Sojourn at the forefront of public art project in Saint John
In Transit Public Art

Sojourn Signs was heavily involved as consultant, manufacturer and installer of the "In Transit" art piece on the 100m long retaining wall at the new Saint John Transit facility.
Architects Stephen Kopp and Monica Adair won a national design competition for their series of 85 2'x10" sign panels that depict portions of traffic signs. Click to view the Saint John Telegraph-Journal article.

Sojourn welcomes new Office Manager
Sojourn Enterprises is pleased to welcome Cynthia Boutilier to our team.  Cynthia will be taking over the duties of Office Manager for a one year maternity leave coverage.  Cynthia holds her Bachelor of Business Administration from Cape Breton University where she was also the captain of the Varsity Volleyball team.  All questions regarding accounts payable and receivable can be directed to Cynthia at cynthia@sojourn.ca.  Please join us in welcoming Cynthia.

Sojourn expands product line to better serve our customers
Customers asked for more products and Sojourn replied by expanding our product line, which now includes real estate signs,  large Traffic Barrels, and Delineators for use in New Brunswick. Stay tuned, more products to follow!

Sojourn fabricates and installs Cabot Trail Signage
Thanks to Sojourn, the Cabot Trail is now a little easier to navigate.  Sojourn just completed a major sign fabrication and installation project. The project included large directional signs as well as interpretive panels placed in roadside kiosks.

Jim Goerz moves into Controller role
Jim Goerz has joined Sojourn as the company’s Controller.  Jim has been working with Sojourn as a contractor for several years and is exciting to join Sojourn in a permanent capacity.  In his new role, Jim will over see the finances and accounts for Sojourn.

Meghan Dodsworth – MacDougall takes a lead on Sojourn’s initiative to improve customer service  
Meghan’s strong customer service skills and focus on delivering top quality service made her the ideal candidate to lead Sojourn’s new quality control initiatives.  In her new role as Service and Accounts Receivable Coordinator, Meghan will be greeting customers, implementing marketing initiatives and following up with customers to ensure our final product exceeded their expectations.

Sojourn Sponsors Provides Free Admission to 4000 Racing Fans at the 2009 Speedway 660 FanFest 

Sojourn was the lead sponsor for this year’s FanFest at Speedway 660 outside of Fredericton.  The staff and managers traveled to the race to great fans and enjoy a weekend away.  Despite the gloomy weather and daunting forecasts, the event was a tremendous success with over 4000 fans in attendance.

Fore – Sojourn Supports Local Associations
If you have been out on the golf course this summer you might have seen Sojourn!  We have sponsored Hole in One Contests at several golf tournaments this summer.  Partnering with the Construction Association of Nova Scotia, the Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association, the Nova Scotia Road Builders, the New Brunswick Road Builders and Highway Construction Association and the Nova Scotia Realtors Association.  Our staff had a great time meeting the golfers.  Part of our sponsorship was a photo contest where golfers dressed up in safety gear.  Click here to see the photos from the events.

Sojourn Guides Wide Load to NB Casino
Sojourn Traffic Control ensured the safe delivery of an oversized wide load from Dartmouth to the new casino in Moncton N.B.  This was an exciting project; it isn’t everyday a truck hauls a 20 ft wide trailer.

Mike Breau Helps Make Sojourn’s Expansion to New Brunswick Official

Here we grow again! We are pleased to welcome Darryl and Igor to our team
To keep up with growing demand, Sojourn has hired two skilled craftsmen.  Darryl is a handyman extraordinaire!  When not making signs, Darryl will play a key role in our installation team.  Darryl is a former member of the Canadian National Bobsled Team and represented Canada at the Olympics.  Igor is very talented artist!  He brings over 12 years of sign making experience to our team.  Click here to see some of Igor’s paintings online.  We are very pleased to welcome them both to our team.

Movin' on up - Sojourn Signs headed for new location
In an effort to continue our evolution as the top sign shop in Atlantic Canada, we will be relocating to 100 Ilsley Avenue, Unit R, as of April 1st. The new location is larger, has a more efficient layout, and includes a bay that will allow us to wrap virtually any vehicle. We look forward to serving our customers from our new and improved location.

Meghan Dodsworth-MacDougall now part of Sojourn Sales Team

Sojourn Signs supports IWK with full vehicle wrap
Sojourn Signs provided a full vehicle wrap for the IWK car at last weekend's IWK 250. The car was driven by Nextel Cup Driver Regan Smith(pictured below with Sojourn GM Dan Eddy).

The wrap was another collaboration between Sojourn and Peter Lawrence, one of the country's top vehicle wrap designers.

Sojourn Signs welcomes Jane Crawford as Production Manager
Sojourn Signs is pleased to welcome one of our region's most experienced sign professionals onto our team. Jane Crawford assumes the role of Production Manager.

She began in the signage industry 18 years ago in a small two-man operation in New Glasgow.  Then joined on with Eastern Sign Print as a screen printer, and was cross-trained in vinyl graphics and shipping departments.  Upon moving to Halifax, she joined A. Jean Sign (currently United Sign).  At United, she moved throughout the organization as a full color process screen printer, illuminated can letters and sign box fabricator, graphic designer and applicator, and as an exterior signage installer.  Lastly, she moved into the roles of Production Manager, Estimator, Purchaser and Sales Rep.

Her experience, leadership skills and vision will greatly assist Sojourn Signs on its quest to become the region's premiere sign maker.

Sojourn purchases large format printer
Sojourn's capabilities continued to expand when the company purchased a 54" printer in January. The printer/cutter is ideal for signs, banners, tradeshow displays and self-stick decals.

Sojourn impresses American Basketball Association boss
Sojourn's combination of sign expertise and design savvy helped produce an attractive and professional image for the ABA All-Star Game in Halifax this past weekend. Sojourn printed courtside banners and 5,000 game-day programs, designed promotional posters and designed and printed a press conference backdrop for the event. League CEO Joe Newman heaped high praise on Sojourn, saying the company's work already puts the new Halifax franchise ahead of 95% of the teams in the league in terms of branding. Sojourn will be the official sign maker of the Halifax Rainmen when they tip-off their inaugural season next November.

Gary Vaters to lead Sojourn Sales Team
Team Sojourn is pleased to welcome Gary Vaters to our organization in his new role as a Senior Sales Team Leader. Gary offers over 11 years experience in the Automotive and Motor Sports industry having worked with both Honda Canada and Polaris Industries. Recent awards received include the "Sales Master" award from Honda Canada, for the 3rd consecutive year. This prestigious award is in recognition of overall sales performance and customer satisfaction and ranked Gary as one of Honda's top sales consultants in Atlantic Canada. Gary's Sales and Marketing experience will prove invaluable to our organization as we continue to focus on improving the Sojourn Customer Experience. We welcome Gary to our Sojourn family.

Sojourn Enterprises has launched e-bulletin, an electronic newsletter that will keep clients informed of industry news and trends as well as innovations and sales specials at Sojourn. Delivery time for signs drastically reduced
Sojourn Signs has taken a number of steps to ensure the delivery time for signs is reduced. These measures are paying off as the delivery time has dropped from an average of 12 days to only four days. Customers have been very pleased with this quicker turnaround time, and as always, they are impressed with the quality of our products.

Dan Eddy moves to General Manager position
Dan Eddy, Sojourn's former Sales Manager, is now heading the company's day-to-day operations as General Manager. Before joining Sojourn last spring, Dan enjoyed success with Irving Oil and Snap-on Tools. He will take over some of the responsibilities of company CEO Stan Slauenwhite who will concentrate his efforts on several larger projects Sojourn has in the works.
